The type of cast iron used is selected to give the emphasis on strength and lightness, this is especially beneficial if the rotors (brake discs) are used in competition and extreme conditions.

All the blank castings are subjected to structural stress relieving heat treatment at the end of each machining phase. It is this process which underpins the quality of Powervane Rotors (brake discs). Facing is performed on CNC turning machines or on traditional parallel lathes to give the perfect finish.
Another distinguishing feature of Powervane Rotors (brake discs) is their perfectly level surface. They are machined to a tolerance approaching 0.010 mm. This is achieved during the final finishing/machining of the Rotor face. This edge of perfection and quality is finished by grinding machines; each disc is ground individually by a specialised operator giving a perfect Balance Rotor.

The curved Vanes are angled to use the rotors deflection of rotation to enhance cooling performance. This makes them side specific. Probably the best Rotors in the Motorsport Industry today

Compbrake has been providing Powervane Racing Rotors to Rally and Endurance Race cars FOR 5 YEARS. Proven and tested by hundreds of cars ranging from World Rally Cars, Circuit Racing Saloon Cars, single seaters, Mitsubishi Evos and Subaru/Cosworth track day cars. When combined with Hawk Race Pads this produces more than a winning combination! The advanced EDGE as advertised in Fast Ford, Jap Sport, Motorsport and motor press.

Powervane Racing Rotors are manufactured to ISO 9000 standards. Each casting of our Rotors is subjected to stringent quality controls. This includes sample testing, random batch testing, to avoid potential problems due to internal and external blowholes, cold shots, sand inclusions and other defects to provide the highest quality.
